About McIndoe Surgical Centre

Private Health Care Specialists

McIndoe Surgical Centre has a fascinating history. The building at East Grinstead once housed the Queen Victoria Hospital’s burns unit, originally established by Sir Archibald McIndoe. He is recognised for his pioneering treatment of airmen burned and injured during the Second World War. The standards of excellence he set in plastic and reconstructive surgery have continued to be developed in the aspects of surgery undertaken at McIndoe Surgical Centre.

Specialist Treatment and Care

Because we have chosen to concentrate on specific surgical specialties, you can be confident that our consultants, theatre, ward and outpatient nurses are truly specialists in their fields. In this way we can promise you the highest standard of patient care.

McIndoe Surgical Centre managed by BMI Healthcare Group and as a result we can take a more flexible approach, offering each patient the individual attention and care he or she needs. We recognise that when a patient feels secure, relaxed and happy, he or she is likely to make a speedier recovery.

The hospital offers all the discreet comfort and style of a respected private hospital. But what makes it unique is our relationship with the Queen Victoria Hospital, which under a formal agreement, provides emergency medical back up in the rare event of post-operative complications. That’s extra reassurance for our patients and their families.

Quality

McIndoe Surgical Centre is regulated under the Care Standards Act 2000 and inspected against National Minimum Standards by the National Care Standards Commission.

In addition the hospital voluntarily participates in two national outcome audits and has been recognised for quality by the Healthcare Accreditation Programme. The Board of McIndoe Surgical Centre endorse an annual quality improvement programme, the progress of which is reviewed throughout the year.
