20th September 2007
That’s all behind her now, as Katie became one of the thousands on waiting lists in Northern Ireland to receive corrective plastic surgery at The BMI McIndoe Surgical Centre in England through the NHS Waiting List Initiative.
For Katie, dressing every day meant wearing something that would hide a growing lump on her leg, which started out small as a child but grew every year as she did. Located on the inner side of her lower calf, the bump was very noticeable. Previous attempts by doctors had a left a visible scar and noticeable dent where the bump was.
